Sustainability provides for the needs of today without impacting the needs of future generations. There are many ways to incorporate sustainability into a building project, and it is always top of mind in my world.
Eco-Sensibility. A practical approach to Energy Efficiency, Water Conservation, Wise Use of Materials, Healthy Indoor Environmental Quality, Reducing Negative Impacts of Construction on the Land.
Eco-Nomics. Put money in your pocket! Lower energy bills, increased property value, better health, tax incentives, cash rebates!
Eco-Conscious. Every effort, no matter how small, can make a difference.
Eco-Chic. Who says sustainable design has to be ugly or dull? There are plenty of good looks and quality elements to incorporate into a sustainable design.
Earth Advantage. I have been a "green team" leader on hundreds of Earth Advantage certified homes in Southern Oregon. E.A. is a multi-disciplined third party certification program for residential building working closely with Energy Trust of Oregon.
Certified Sustainable Building Advisor. In 2009, after successfully completely a rigorous national certification program and exam, I received my designation of CSBA. Since that time, I have had the opportunity to teach classes and seminars in a topic that is near and dear to my heart.
